Technology-Enhanced Nursing Education is a course meant to equip nursing students with knowledge and skills to effectively integrate technology into teaching, learning, and clinical practice. This course looks at digital learning platforms, simulation, virtual learning environments, multimedia resources, mobile technologies, and emerging educational technologies in nursing. Emphasis is placed on the application of technology to enhance clinical competence, critical thinking, collaboration, learner engagement, and evidence-based practice. Students will also examine ethical, professional, and accessibility considerations in the use of technology while developing skills to select and evaluate appropriate digital tools for nursing education.

Technology-Enhanced Nursing Education introduces learners to the practical use of digital tools in teaching nursing , learning, assessment, and professional development. The course covers e-learning platforms, multimedia resources, virtual simulation, mobile learning, online assessment, and other emerging educational technologies.
Learners develop skills in selecting appropriate technologies, designing learning activities, supporting participation and evaluating technology-supported instruction. More focus is placed on digital professionalism, ethical practice, accessibility, data privacy and responsible integration of technology in classroom, clinical and distance-learning settings to improve the quality and flexibility of nursing education.

FOCUS: Effective integration of technology into Nursing Education and practice.
Technology-enhanced nursing education is designed to equip nursing students with knowledge and skills to effectively integrate technology into teaching, learning, assessment and clinical practice. The course introduces learners to contemporary approaches such as mobile learning, simulation, eLearning, virtual classrooms, blended learning, multimedia resources and learning management systems. There is a strong focus on how technology can enhance learner management, self directed learning, critical thinking, collaboration, and access to educational resources. Students explore the principles of selecting and applying appropriate technologies according to learning needs and outcomes. The course will also examine the challenges associated with technology use; limited digital literacy, internet connectivity, limited infrastructure, digital fatigue and motivation. It will further examine ethical and professional considerations; privacy, academic integrity, confidentiality and responsible use of digital information.
By the end of the course, the students should demonstrate competence in using technology effectively, appropriately, and ethically to support Nursing Education and professional practice.
NB: Technology should enhance not replace effective theory and practice of teaching in nursing while its selection and use should be guided by learner needs, context and learning outcomes.
